Information We Collect

• Photos you upload to design your pillow.
• Descriptions you type in the Studio to create or edit a picture.
• Order information — name, shipping address, email, and order details — once you place an order. If your wallet (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay) passes us a phone number with your address, we keep that with the order too.
• If you create an account: your email address, and anything tied to it — your store credit balance and any designs you've saved. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your email address and nothing else.
• Details about who is on your pillow, if you choose to tell us after you order: a name, and if you like a species, a birthday, and whether they have passed away. We use that last one to make sure we never send you a cheerful message about them.
• Whether you've agreed to receive birthday emails, and when. You can withdraw it on your account page at any time.
• Reviews: the rating, words and photo you send us after your order arrives. We show your photo on our site only if you tick the box allowing it and a person has approved it. We don't publish your rating, your words, or your name.
• Gift cards: the recipient's email address, and the name and message you write, so we can deliver the card.
• Support requests: the messages and photos you send us through a support ticket or by email.
• Usage analytics: we count anonymous events on our own servers — which customizer step was reached, which of a fixed set of choices was made, how long a preview stayed open, and how long a background cut-out took, in coarse time ranges — to find where people get stuck. There is no cookie, no third-party tag, and no identifier of any kind: an event carries no account, order, design, photo, web address or free text, only a page name from a fixed list, so it cannot be traced back to you or joined into a profile. Nothing about it is sent to anyone else. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we send nothing at all.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate your 3D preview and the production files used to make your pillow.
• To have a person review your design before it goes into production.
• To fulfill, ship, and support your order.
• To sign you into your account — with a one-time link we email you, or with your Google account; there is no password to manage — and to track your store credit and saved designs.
• To improve the site and the customizer experience.

Where We Store It

Your uploaded photos and the design files we generate from them (the cut-out, the print file) are stored in Cloudflare R2. Order, account, and store-credit records are stored in our database.

How Long We Keep Your Photos

Photos and designs are stored for as long as the design exists — while you're actively working on it, and afterward for any order made from it.

We don't run an automated process that deletes uploads after a fixed period. If you'd like a photo or design deleted, email support@madeuni.com and we'll remove it. Deleting an order's photos early may make it harder for us to verify a Preview Match Guarantee claim later, so we'll flag that before acting on your request.

Who We Share It With

We don't sell or share your personal information — we don't sell it, and we don't hand it over for targeted advertising — and we never will. There are no advertising or tracking tools on this site.

• Cloudflare — hosts this site, sends our emails, and stores your uploaded photos, design files, and account/order records. It also removes the background from your photo: every photo you upload in the customizer or the Studio goes through it. It isn't used for anything else.
• Photoroom — if you ask us to re-cut a photo's background a second way, that photo is sent to Photoroom for that one cut-out. Nothing else goes with it.
• Stripe — when you place an order, Stripe processes your payment. We don't see or store your full card number.
• Google — when you use the Studio, the description you type is sent to Google (Gemini) to draw the picture; when you ask us to edit a Studio picture — one Gemini drew or one you uploaded — the picture goes along with your instruction. We don't send your name, email, or account details with it.
• Replicate — pictures being prepared for print are sent to Replicate to be enlarged to print quality. No text and no account details go with them.
• Zoho — hosts our support mailbox, so email you send us is stored there.
• The shipping carrier (USPS for standard orders) — gets your name and shipping address on the label so it can deliver your pillow.
• A print partner — if a partner workshop makes your pillow, it gets the print files and the shipping label, which carries your name and address. Nothing else goes with them.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Our own cookies are there only to make the site work. One keeps you signed in to your account and lasts up to 30 days. Two more last a few minutes each and protect sign-in, by email link or by Google, from being misused. Staff and partner accounts have their own sign-in cookies. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

When you reach checkout, our payment processor, Stripe, sets its own cookies to help prevent fraud. They are not used for advertising.

Your browser also keeps a few things for you on your own device: your cart, the design you're working on (including its photo) so a refresh doesn't lose it, your light or dark setting, and a referral code if a link brought you here. They stay in your browser, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

When the analytics paragraph above says "no cookie", it means the analytics: nothing stored in your browser is used to count those events or to tell visits apart.

Your Privacy Choices (California Residents)

You have the right to know what personal information we've collected about you and to ask us to delete it.

To make a request, email support@madeuni.com from the email address on your order (or your account email) and tell us what you'd like us to do. We may ask you to confirm your order number to verify the request.

We'll confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days.

We don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.

Children's Privacy

MadeUni isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
